Cookie Policy

What we store on your device, why we store it, and how to change your mind at any time.

Last updated:

1. What cookies and equivalent technologies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device so that it can be read back later. Cookies are not the only technology of this kind: browsers also offer local storage (localStorage), session storage and similar mechanisms that keep information on your device in the same way.

This matters legally as well as technically. Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC does not talk about cookies at all: it covers any storing of information, or gaining of access to information already stored, in the terminal equipment of a user. A localStorage key is therefore subject to exactly the same rules as a cookie, and we treat it that way throughout this document.

Whenever this policy says cookies, please read it as cookies and any equivalent storage technology.

2. How Doomity uses them: the minimum, and nothing else

Our approach is deliberately austere. This site stores on your device only what it genuinely needs in order to work, plus one optional third-party tool that never loads unless you ask for it.

So that there is no ambiguity, we state the following expressly:

  • We do not use analytics or audience measurement cookies of any kind. There is no Google Analytics on this site.
  • We do not use Google Tag Manager or any other tag management or script injection tool.
  • We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, conversion pixels or any other advertising technology.
  • We do not carry out profiling, we do not build behavioural profiles and we do not take automated decisions about you based on your browsing.
  • We do not embed social network buttons, widgets or trackers.
  • We do not share information about your visit with advertising platforms, data brokers or advertising networks. There is nothing to share, because we do not collect it.

We would rather have a short and truthful cookie policy than a long one describing technologies we do not use. If you find something on this site that is not listed below, please tell us at llc@doomity.com and we will correct it.

3. Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required)

The following items are stored on your device because the site cannot provide the service you asked for without them. They do not track you across other websites and they are not used for any purpose beyond the one described.

Name Provider Purpose Duration
doomity_locale Doomity Remember the language you selected 12 months
__cf_bm Cloudflare Distinguish automated traffic and protect the site 30 minutes
cf_clearance Cloudflare Record that a security check has been passed Up to 1 year
doomity_user_locale (localStorage) Doomity Backup of your language preference Until you delete it
doomity_consent (localStorage) Doomity Record of your cookie decision, so that we can respect it and not ask again 12 months

Why these are exempt from consent: Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC allows storage that is strictly necessary in order to provide a service expressly requested by the user. Remembering the language you chose is the direct execution of your own request, and the Cloudflare cookies keep the site available and protected against automated abuse. Without them the service you asked for could not be delivered, so we do not ask you to consent to something you cannot meaningfully refuse.

These items are still processing of personal data in some cases, and for that processing our legal basis is our legitimate interest in serving the site in the correct language and keeping it secure (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

5. Third-party content loaded by the site

Beyond the scheduling widget described above, the only external resource the site requests is flagcdn.com, which serves the small flag images shown in the international dialling code selector of our contact form. These are plain SVG images: they carry no cookies and no scripts, and they cannot store anything on your device. Your browser does disclose its IP address when it fetches an image, as it does with any resource on the internet.

Typefaces are served from our own server. No request is made to Google Fonts or to any other font hosting service.

There is no video embed, no map embed, no comment system, no chat widget and no social media plugin anywhere on this site.

9. Changes to this policy

We update this policy whenever the site changes what it stores on your device. That includes adding, removing or replacing any cookie, any storage key or any third-party tool, and it also includes changes to durations or purposes.

The date at the top of the page always reflects the version in force. If a change introduces a new technology that requires consent, we will ask you again before it runs, and your previous answer will not be treated as covering it.
